Candidate's Background:

  • Inquire about the candidate's family background, including parents and siblings.

  • Where did you spend your early childhood?

  • What are your hobbies and interests?

  • What do you consider your greatest strengths?

  • What do you perceive as your greatest weaknesses?

  • Tell me about your most significant accomplishments.

  • What is your current job, and what is motivating you to seek new employment?

  • What are you seeking in your next position?

  • What are your long-term goals?

  1. Attitude Towards Children and Childcare Knowledge:

  • What motivated you to pursue a career as a nanny?

  • What qualities do you possess that make you a good caregiver?

  • What do you enjoy about taking care of children?

  • How many years of experience do you have with infants and toddlers?

  • Have you dealt with potty training before?

  • What activities would you engage in with a child of (mention the child's age)?

  • How would you handle crying or temper tantrums in a child of this age?

  • Are you interested in enrolling the children in local programs?

  • At what point do you believe it's acceptable for children to be unsupervised?

  • Are you comfortable assisting children with their homework?

  • Would you be open to occasionally caring for other children while my child has a playdate?

  • What do you find most challenging or interesting when working with children of this age?

  1. Food Preparation:

  • Are you capable of cooking?

  • What meals would you prepare for children aged 0-1 and 2-5?

  1. Ability to Handle Medical Emergencies:

  • Have you received any First Aid training?

  • How would you respond to situations such as a blow to the head, choking, or high fever?

  1. Transportation:

  • Do you possess a valid driver's license?

  • Are you comfortable driving a manual or automatic vehicle?

  • What type of car do you own?

  • Does your car have rear seat belts?

  • What kind of insurance coverage do you have? (Fully comprehensive/Third party?)

  1. Willingness to Assist with Household Chores/Babysitting:

  • Which household tasks are you willing to handle? (e.g., nursery duties, light housework, ironing, cooking)

  • Are you open to providing babysitting services?

  1. Employment Details:

  • When would you be available to start a new position?

  • What salary expectations do you have?

  • Can you commit to a one-year employment period?

Key Areas to Evaluate:

  • Compatibility with the Nanny:

  • Assess whether the nanny would be a suitable match for your child.

  • You know your child's needs best. Some children require plenty of physical activity and an energetic caregiver who can take them on outdoor adventures. Other children may have artistic inclinations or a love for reading. Inquire about the nanny's artistic or creative talents or their willingness to read to children.
